Rainshadow
Looks like the last few days of the month will bring us close, but according to Walt's (Drag) climate section we should do it this March in PHL. Most of these were before we were born. Of course the only one in the sample that had an el nino the ensuing winter was 1887. That must have been one brutal July. At least for today one can dream, dream, dream 2017 results: In spite of those temps during the summer of 2017, it was still the 2nd coolest summer of the 2010s.
Rainshadow
I updated the results from last summer. I don't think we will make it this March with the warmer half of the month (ha!) coming and we have a lower February than last year. Regardless to even have this up for discussion is more of the Costanza bizzaroclimoworld we are living in now. March has become the new mild February last several years (except for 2016). colonel_kurtz
With a low of at least 31 this morning PHL has now recorded (14) 32 or < days this month. For the entire month of FEB there were only (12) such days.

colonel_kurtz
Thru today PHL has recorded (15) consecutive days with a minimum temp of 32 or lower. This is the longest such streak during the month of MAR since (18) days in 1969. The longest steak is (27) consecutive days during MAR 1960. In addition to the noteworthy consistency of the current stretch of weather the minimum temp for the month is only 28 degrees. The average MAR minimum over the past 30 yrs. is 20 degrees. Monthly minimums as high as 28 degrees are normally reserved for higher end torch months.

That secret is getting less well kept among the empty nesters.
