Rainshadow
Hello, We are getting to that time with the overlap between 2016 (dont let the door hit you on the way out) & 2017 on the spread sheets. From this evening on out, its all 2017 in theoutlooks, so we have started the new spreadsheet file. The 2017 outlooks are in the tabs not followed by a 2. That's me just saving the computations from the 2016 sheet. We will maintain the 2016 spread sheet until this week finishes and then I will attach both through the month of January. As always any comments on how to make this better, easier to understand, please let us know. Thanks! 2017 Weeklies.xlsx
Rainshadow
I changed the tabs, so all the current ones are to the left. I will include the 2016 spread sheet as an attachment for the rest of this month's updates. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx Copy of 2016WEEKLIES-1-1.xlsx
Rainshadow
First time that the new Euro formula weekly was too warm week 1. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx Copy of 2016WEEKLIES-1-1.xlsx
Rainshadow
Not a very accurate week. Mon CFS2 so far in 2017 is ahead of Mon Euro in 3 of the 4 forecast weeks. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx Copy of 2016WEEKLIES-1-1.xlsx
Rainshadow
Another Monday outlook where the CFS2 was more accurate than the Euro this year (so far). 2017 Weeklies.xlsx Copy of 2016WEEKLIES-1-1.xlsx
Rainshadow
The Monday CFS2 run is still equal or better than the Monday European weeklies for all four weeks we are evaluating, especially week 1 where its errors for January were about half of the Euro's. This is the last time I will attach the final 2016 results too in a post. Next week I will start including the summary errors to date. CFS2 probably wants us to not jinx it. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx Copy of 2016WEEKLIES-1-1.xlsx
Rainshadow
Both models were 3F too cold with their week one forecast, so the CFS has yet to lose week 1 to the Euro yet. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx
Rainshadow
Now with a month under our belts, I have started the summary strip again. Cold bias gets progressively worse farther out in forecast time for both models. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx

Rainshadow
Aside from Week 2, it doesnt look like the Monday CFS2 is going to lose much ground to the Euro for this week. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx
Rainshadow
Even in a cold week (the coldest mon-sun week since the first week of March 2015), the Euro was still too cold in week 1 and the CFS continues to beat it in weeks 1, 3 & 4. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx
Rainshadow
After the Euro comes in tonight, I will update this, but the trend of the CFS being better than the Euro overall (except for week 2 temps) is still holding. Monday Euro is losing to Thu Euro in weeks 3 & 4.

Rainshadow
Euro Week 1 caught up to the CFS2 as the latter's cold bias has become worse. CFS2 now winning weeks 3 & 4. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx
Rainshadow
Euro still winning weeks 1 & 2 overall; CFS2 weeks 3 & 4. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx

Rainshadow
Euro had a good week, gaining on the CFS2 in weeks 3 & 4, winning the first two now. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx
Rainshadow
Not much movement this week. CFS2 week 2 forecast for our current week was once -5F. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx
Rainshadow
Interesting stat so far that the CFS2 has been as good/bad in week 2 as it has been in week 4. Week 3 has the worst stats. Thu Euro not having a good year. 2017 Weeklies.xlsx
