tombo82685
Well pretty drastic temperature differences between the euro and gfs for Christmas. Both models show mid to upper 60s for the day but the gfs has that high occurring at midnight while euro is just warm the whole day. Who wins.. gfs 17/12 12z: midnight high 65-70, daytime highs falling through 50s into the 40s
Parsley
Interesting battle for sure.
tombo82685
The eps spread at 12z showed euro op was well within mean. 0z run euro op was within mean, but just barely. The eps mean temp did drop from 12z at the 0z run...we shall see what today's run gives. I mean it does little for departures because if the gfs is right the high would still register in the 65-70 range like the euro. It just that may be at midnight while it's chilly during the day. Parsley
I know it means very little, but (for the heck of it) the Canadian sided with the GFS AT 00z.

I dont remember its timing for today, but at one time I thought I could golf before the rain started, and that didn't happen. I was just looking at the GFS and even it was not fast. SalemCountyNJ
Well if it isn't warm on Xmas day, the flames of my daughters exploding hover board will keep me warm as I ride it up and down the street.

At least now you know what you can use to clear the street when it starts to snow.

Rainshadow
congrats to euro, looks like christmas is going to be warm as well If it holds, I would still say the GFS won the battle, but lost the war. It still looks like the faster cfp is holding, its just the GFS was rushing in the cold air too fast (wow never saw that one before.).
