JSchwake28
Does anyone know is this was confirmed yet? I saw this story a couple of days ago but there were questions as to its accuracy (who wouldn't question 6"/hr snowfall rates for 18 straight hours!). I'm still a little skeptical but would be awesome if true

CameronCat
On the other hand, I just found this in the UK Telegraph newspaper... "One of the world's snowiest ski resorts has been forced to shut early due to lack of snow. Mount Baker, Washington, on the west coast of America, boasts one of the highest average annual snowfalls in the world (641 inches a year – 16.3 metres). In its 1998-99 season it set a new world record for most snow in a season with 1,140 inches (29m), a record that still stands. This season, however, has told a different story, with only a percentage of its traditional snowfall gracing the ski area. The resort's operations have been “temporarily suspended until more snow falls” according to its website. In a video on the resort's website, Duncan Howat, the ski area's president and general manager said Mount Baker needed about six to 12 inches for the resort's nine lifts and 1,000 acres of terrain to be able to reopen.
