PHL: biggest snowfall of the winter

Someone was aghast that PHL might get their biggest snowfall in March.  So, I put together these stats to show, its not *that* uncommon.

Here are the odds for all months:

 

November - 2%

December - 14%

January - 32%

February - 33%

March - 18%

April - 3%

 

That adds up to a bit over 100 because I counted the cross-over storms between months for each month (double count).

I'm actually surprised at the stat mainly because I'd always believed that March had the highest probability of having the biggest snows.  Somewhere long ago I'd heard some state that March had the highest potential here for big blizzards of any month, and that stat stuck with me.  It sounds like that was complete bogus info.  My whole life I've been living a lie.  :rolleyes:

Oh, tombo probably just puts down that Department 56 fluff stuff to make it look like there's snow on the course ;)

Some do crabgrass if they are doing split apps, but we do a single app in mid to late april if you aren't doing split apps.  Snow wouldn't really do much to it either.
