Going to be icy in the morning. Freezing fog already dense around here before midnight. 29.

Landscape looks cool this morning with the fog that froze.  My kids thought it snowed

Fourth month of March incoming....

2nd warmest February on record for PHL.

Hard to have much winter here when Jan and Feb both torch. December is phl's coldest winter month so far at 37.8. Possible (but unlikely) for March to also be colder than either Jan or Feb.

Yeah. Thick frost. Patchy ice on blacktop and sidewalk. Sun glare and accidents on the local highways. Fun times. Looks more winter like than much of actual winter.

Whoever had the month of December should do our entire outlook next winter.  Little did we know we had the decimal point wrong (or had GFSitis, 10:1 predicted, observed ratio) with our snowfall (We Meant 2.6" , not 26"). ;)

Paging Ray, paging Ray.  Is this averages of all days vs averaging the monthly averages that xmacis does?

He told me he ran dailys vs monthly averages.  Reason for differences.

Only 3 years has March has only been colder than both JAN & FEB at Philadelphia:

  JAN FEB MAR
1932 46.2 39.6 39.5
1890 41.6 41.2 38.8
1960 34.2 35.3 32.6

Maybe unlikely however as good a shot as possible with the preceding torch combo.

Gory details on the "winter that wasn't" in the northeast. Congrats Erie🥵

Misery loves company. The inability to sustain any cold air in the East the past 4 months has been thing I'll take away from this winter the most. Yes, a few impressive cold blasts but brief.

I think Erie got more snow during Fall than in winter lol. For my location it was more 50/50

You have a lot more inches to lose than we do. Would be interesting to see the # on a percentage basis.

Yeah I couldn’t find a map. Closest I could find was a percentile map but that was dated 2/16.

Februarys from 2016-2020 were stinkers as well...
