True, but the game overall turned out to be well-played! Hopefully the Eagles will have similar success tomorrow.

Close the shades nice and tight…we can’t even get TV snow. That lake effect is annoying…reminds me of watching the radar with a storm sliding south…. ErieWX
Astronomical winter hasn’t even started yet. Last year, we didn’t even get a good pattern until after New Years. Do I think Phil will be above normal snow? Idk, it’s a Niña. But it will probably snow. Doubt we see a ‘19-‘20 repeat, that was highly unusual.
mb2231
Does anyone else here use an Ambient WS-2000? I've had mine for about a year now and while the temp and precip readings seem dead on, the wind readings always seem to come out weird. Like max gusts always seem to land on the same numbers such as 10.3mph, 13.6mph, 17.2mph, 21.6mph. Also seems sort of low (I'll admit it's in a non-optimal position for wind readings at ~7ft above ground). Maybe some sort of precision issue? Mine is set up high, so I catch the gusts better, but I don't totally rely on it for my temps (I have 2 other stations for that, but most times they are similar anyway). Most of the time my gusts seem different, but on some occasions I've noticed that the gusts are similar. 26.2 seems to happen more than other numbers. Overall though I wouldn't consider it an issue. My wish is that for temps they would make that in a separate small unit. I know they have them, but they are a few hundred more I think. My equivalent of that event was the January 2015 bust, 18+" predicted for Philly (and I think 24-36" for NYC?) only to end up with 1-3" just a couple days later. I remember watching the radar live in disbelief. Bolaris never gave up on it. NBC also broke into their prime time network coverage to be the 1st to throw it out there on the last day of sweeps month. No one looked good on this, but he became the poster child for this non event.

I got into looking at all this because I'm calculating Wind Chill and using Wind Speed rather than gusts, which I think is probably the correct way to do it. I also realized the NWS formula for wind chill assumes the anemometer is at 33 feet and a human face is at 5 feet (V^0.16 portion of the forumla), so if you anemometer is actually at 7 feet like mine, my wind chill calculations might actually come out to high. rramblings
Oh well, another gorgeous sunset tonight. Took a landscape photo but when I try to share it is inverted. But it very similar to photo I shared yesterday. @frankdp23 did you see it? Or beautiful sunrise this morning, image attached. Had to scramble out to of bed with phone to take photo and not lock myself out. 😄

eastonwx
What would you do if you were in this situation? Trapped inside an ice encrusted home with no power. Even if you had a generator would it work? I’m not that claustrophobic but this would test my limits.
