Robnj88
Not weather related but - Heading home down 295 (sort of near the wonderful 295 and 76/ 42 interchange) around 8:30 this evening and saw this huge convoy of at least 16 busses with several police escorts headed northbound. Traffic was backed up for quite awhile behind it. Can’t find any info on it anywhere. Anyone on here possibly have any idea what this could have been about?

Harbourton
GFS supposedly had an upgrade. Completely caved to the Euro inland track for the Friday storm which was always wet. GFS needs Elon Musk to intervene.
Parsley
Here's my half-ass long range forecast for southeast PA using a quick glance of the (horrible) long range models and a good dose of disappointment in my reservoir based on recents Decembers... Chilly-> Cold rain/wind -> Chilly -> Cold rain/wind -> Cold, dull, brown Christmas. 🤨 2

Thought of that, probably happens around Christmas to make it feel "festive" as we look out over the frozen muddy puddles.

Probably as the artic front comes through but it won’t stick here because temps will be in the mid 30’s to start.

We'll see. May not be too far a drive to get a decent snowpack the final week of December. Not trying to be a debbie downer, but I've lost basically all hope for appreciable snows (4+") under 500' anytime before the New Year. That's been my mindset for years around here. If it happens, it'd be a major feat in my eyes.

LOL DEC 2017 - 6" event plus 3 other 1"(+) events NOV 2018 - 4-5" event DEC 2020 - 7" event That's for my 170' location just NE of the city, even PHL has been above average snowfall wise on 12/31 during 3 of the past 5 seasons.

Eh, feel like I missed 1-2 of those out this way (further west). Maybe not. Really don’t remember. All I’m saying is if the pattern looks improved (like it does toward Christmas) but still borderline, I’m willing to bet against snow down here for the next few weeks. Guess I just ride climo harder than others. Hope I’m wrong….again.
Parsley
Looking back at my pics I see snow from the 2 December events you mentioned. Got a map for the November one?

Thank goodness for pictures like you said, my now spreadsheet of measurements and Ray's archive. There are even some large events that I barely remember now! 😄
irishbri74
Know what they say? You gotta smell/feel the rain to get a storm to track 7 days away…
Captain Lou
I wish these computer modeled crippling snows were a day away and not a week away. When showtime gets here, it is either usually OTS, slop storm or rain. Hopefully, my hunch is wrong for Christmas weekend....
