When I went to pick up my grocery order at 7:45 am there was .33 inches in my rain gage, emptied gage.

Heavy rain. Been a couple of months since I drove in rain as most rainfall of note since early July at night.

At 8:45 heavy rain had passed, checked my gage, 1.32 inches (gage emptied) in my gage.

I'm up to 1.97" total.  That was some really heavy rain for a good hour or so.

I just looked out my back window at my gage so I will be adding to my total, but I may be a tenth of inch under you at this point.

A friend on the north side of my town said his gauge has 4".  Radar estimates by him confirm that.  So crazy!

If you were born before 1970, there’s a good chance you’ll solve the riddle in the topic title. For the younger set, Google is your friend.

She had a golden voice, and left us far too soon.

Oh, that silky smooth butterscotch alto voice of hers. Enjoy this one.

Sun is out and radar looks meh. MMU was the winner

Plainfield area about to get rocked.  Just had a cell fire up over me to drop another .15" in 3 minutes.  Now 2.10" on the day.  North side of town closer to 78 at 4"+

A bit of training going on as cells are firing near Flemington and going overhead here.

I will take my rain even if I don’t get above 2 inches when all is said and done. Will help, I hope, my drought stressed kosa dogwood and vibrium shrub. I have a large fir tree with needle cast, treated by arborist twice a season that is very unhappy with the drought, rain may not bring her back but she still has some needles
