Winter Research Link - AWSSI

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Eric Fisher shared a really cool link.  Definitely wanted to pass it along here... So, the folks at Midwestern Regional Climate Center have developed research on Accumulated Winter Season Severity Index.

Here's the link to check it out  - https://mrcc.purdue.edu/research/awssi/indexAwssi.jsp

Here's the link for Philly
https://mrcc.purdue.edu/AWSSI/chart.html?stn=PHLthr

It can also show you what other seasons that were similar to the one we're currently in.

The cool thing with this site, I can bring past winters close to this one.  Kind of reminding of the years that sucked or the ones that were great.. Definitely a really cool site.

Fun site. We have just passed last year and will have a good winter if we can stay ahead in Feb.
