Oct 29/30 Storm Obs.

Quite breezy here in lower slower DE.  temp at 61F. A few rain showers have passed thru in the early morning but streets are mostly dry. Radar isn't quite filling in to the south and Mt. Holly is now even less bullish on heavy rain. We'll have to see what this afternoon brings with any winds mixing down.  Impressively large system covering the whole southeast tho!

Happy Friday!

Windy as can be, but the sun is out.

yeah, winds rippin' pretty good. Gusts 30-40 mph easily. Feels like fall for a change.

Honestly, don't have the numbers IMBY to back it up but winds seem to be overperforming out here ahead of the rain. Gusts seem like 40+ in the past hour.

I see Coatesville, reporting gusts in excess of 40 mph. Perhaps the elevation is helping.

The NWS website has wind gusts of up to 30 mph listed for my location. I don't have anything to measure wind speed with, but the gusts definitely feel stronger than 30 mph so far. I already had to go move our trash can back once because the wind blew it down our driveway a bit.

Rain started in the last 20 minutes or so.

Wind ripping here on my hilltop, my weather station never measures above 15mph but I'd guess 30-40 range the past few hours in gusts

Yeah, east wind component always makes things "seem/sound" worse IMBY as its my only fully exposed side of the property. Plus the east wind component is the least common during the course of the year so its not normally the side getting battered (usually west or north)

Along the river in Bensalem wind is now gusting as high as it's been all day.

River is very high for being not far removed from low tide. The residents next to the office will definitely see water in their yard at high tide tonight. May take a run up to the Bristol warf if it's not pouring tonight.

Although we're only a quarter mile from the river, I will say that the winds have been whipping steadily down here at the lower elevations since sunrise.  Perfect trajectory for funneling water up the Delaware.  May take a walk down to Penn's Landing tonight to see the tides.

Absolutely nasty down here in Lewes, De. Savannah Road is flooded just past the bridge over the canal. Docks at the the marina are under water.  Canal itself is well over it's banks. Wind is whipping over 40mph and stinging rain is sideways.

Officially thru 8pm, the York airport 13 miles as the crow flies to my Ene is coming in around 1.4". I haven't been out in this mess to check my trusty, cheesy rain gauge, but I  think I've done better than that. My old stomping grounds of BWI was at 2.97" as of 8pm. Just crushed relatively speaking with this one. I would add, it's been windy as he!! too.
