Pacific Northwest & Canada Set All-Time Record High Temperatures

Recommended Posts

A couple of things I found interesting - the town of Lytton appears to be surrounded by thousand-foot peaks (looks beautiful on Street view really), so I'm sure the winds were blowing in a direction where downsloping probably helped turn up the heat to 121.

The second thing, for all the dozens of record highs that were set, there were only 4 record lows on the list. I feel like if we had a similar event on the East coast (god forbid) it would be kind of the opposite, where record lows would be more plentiful. I wonder if the ongoing drought out West has something to do with the lows going down enough to avoid many records.

Yeah we would be the flip, more record high mins because of the dew points. Would think the drought made it easier.
