Thunderstorms will never ever ever ever ever ever come close to the scenery of a snow covered landscape with a sun set

Just got an email from Shutterfly with the “memories from this day last year”. Couldn’t be any more different. Grass was starting to green up, my gardens were all cleaned up and getting ready for mulc

This guy showed up just after I posted

The SSW.

Yes we both agreed on that. Ssw is what saved the winter. But more what was needed for the snow events. I’m going to make a post this evening about it so don’t want to clog this thread up

I think I spotted the difference.  A few backyard neighbors added decks. 😆

Good eye! lol! My swing is moved too, over to the side of my yard as I await my fire pit install and some trees/shrubs (hopefully later this spring).

Yep. Last winter was an utter embarrassment.

Added another 0.1" (although some had melted prior) 5.5" "final" total?

February should be a white landscape. I agree. It has been some month this year.

I'll take 31 and snow or 64 and sun.

No, 40 and rain.

Picked up a chunk of recent snow outside. The stratification is really interesting and tells the story of the various ptypes and in what order they fell. Light flakes are on top of the very distinctive ice layer from the freezing rain. Under that there is a thick layer of sleet pellets, which sit atop snow.
