Thunderstorms will never ever ever ever ever ever come close to the scenery of a snow covered landscape with a sun set

Just got an email from Shutterfly with the “memories from this day last year”. Couldn’t be any more different. Grass was starting to green up, my gardens were all cleaned up and getting ready for mulc

This guy showed up just after I posted

interesting climo note: the 2/18 record daily snowfall for Philadelphia is a weak 3.6" & during 136 yrs. of FEB snowfall records Philadelphia has only recorded a total of 18.0" on the date

both the record daily & total snow figures are the 2nd worst of any FEB date trailing only the 3.1" daily record & 14.0" total snowfall for 2/27

3 significant multi-day events have included snowfall on 2/18:

14.3" - 1979

11.2" - 1900

6.0" - 1893

Out here in Western Chesco the daily snow record for 2/18 is 10.0" from 1979

is that a 7:00 - 7:00 COOP timeframe?

hard to believe Chesco rec'd 10" while PHL only recorded 0.4" during a normal 24hr period

edit: Wilmington & BWI only 1.6" & 3.6" respectively on 2/18

What are your morning thoughts comparing radar to NAM etc? That banding is gonna be so close to me in NE......If i could choose id probably want to be in like Central/N Montco

So close, should be good, keep an eye upstream, it's generally holding its trajectory pretty steadily

What time should the city expect to see the first flakes?  Good early morning, btw!

My guess is between 530-6, but depends how this current banding fills in. It’s kind of forked at us. @susqushawn what is closest place to Philly reporting anything? Kind of surprising if it’s all virga
