2/15-2/16 Ice Observations

Temp starting to fall back a bit but only 34.9 here - nothing to make me think any significant ice is imminent - would expect the NWS will trim off Western Chesco with the upcoming update over the next hour...if we do get some precip no doubt some icing will occur on the trees etc. but not thinking anything significant or needing a warning IMO - but as always we leave to the professionals!

Ran outside to check the mail and it felt colder than the 32/33 that nearby weather stations are reporting. There was also a definite mist - the road is wet, as was my car. That may be why it felt colder to me. Even so, there was significant melting of our snow pack. Also, I'm no expert, but looking at the radar images the moisture appears to be staying west?

One thing I will say though - if the ice threat doesn't materialize, I'll certainly breathe a sigh of relief, but I will feel bad for the professional meteorologists that will take a beating from people that don't really know how complicated these systems are, especially in this area.

Not enough rain for it. Also temps to cool when rain is falling. Really need temps in 50s dews high and over an inch of rain

Most likely, true. Still expecting lots of runoff and swampy yards by morning.

Some light rain now with temps ranging from 33.3 on my VP to 31.8 on my Tempest - could my VP be running too warm?? How many less 90's could I have had in the summer?? LOL!

Similar spread here. Tempest coldest at 32.4. My other 2 sensors are 33 and 34.

Tempest clearly is the most "sensitive" of them all. Will check the deck once it hits 32 or below and see if it's reading right.
