The latest snowfall map from NWS has 3" of snow for Reading.

I find it odd that an advisory hasn't at least been put up for Berks yet. This could be misunderstanding what the thresholds and lead times for advisories/watches/warnings are, but I feel like there was an advisory put up for the last even Monday night into Tuesday with less snow predicted, albeit quite close to the onset of precipitation.

Awaiting more guidance from the models at 18z? Apologies for pointing this, just trying to learn what goes into those getting issued vs. not issued.

Berks Co. is on the fence. Although timing (morning rush/school buses) would make you lean toward an advisory out of caution, you'd think. Like you said the advisory yesterday for what amounted to 0 IMBY where schools had a 2-hour delay out of caution. Not sure if they did the 2-hour delay based solely off the advisory vs. looking at an actual radar. Anyway, snow should be just about done by daybreak tomorrow up that way so it will be interesting to see how the roads are. I'm expecting another 2-hour delay with actual snow covered roads this time around.

I got about an inch and a half from that event up here. I'm really unsure how tonight's will shake out. Based on the criteria outlined at the link @PreserveJon provided (3" in a 12 hour or less period), I'd think one will get put up based on their expected snowfall map and needing to consider the county as a whole - but I know from when I was a kid that snowfall can vary greatly from south to central to north Berks too. Guess we'll see.

It is now snowing in southwestern PA.  The HRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR  just dissipates the DC pcpn in place (so it says).

36F for a high in Mount Laurel, currently 33F.

When exactly is an event in the HRR’s wheelhouse? (If at all)
