I have no idea where to post this question, so mods, please feel free to do that thing you do so well.

What is the met-correct academic term for Sandy? I'm applying to the MS in Environmental Science program at Villanova, and I want to reference it in one of my supplemental application documents.  "Superstorm" is the most popular, but strikes me as not the correct term to use. "Post-Tropical"? "Hurricane"? 🤔

Any help is appreciated! TIA! 😊
