Why do we love it?

Why do we wish for snow every winter? Why do we follow computer models daily? The thrill of victory or the agony of defeat? (Sorry Wide World of Sports, lol). I'm soon to be 54 yrs old and I still love a good snowstorm. The question is why? Is it the pristine white conditions, or the peace and silence of an evening snowfall?  Perhaps it brings back fond childhood memories or relationships with loved ones who have passed on?

For me personally, I love the peaceful feeling of snow falling in the evening and almost being able to hear the flakes hit the surface.  Nothing relieves the stress of day to day life like enjoying a good snowfall. I remembering creating a snow mountain for my then 2 yr old daughter during the blizzard of Jan. 96 So I could enjoy her trying to climb it.  I can truly associate snow with good time...

Snow takes me back to being a kid and wishing for school closings.  That is what mainly got me into this hobby (and and older brother to be a snow weenie with).  There was nothing better than listening to 1450 wctc am station and them announcing the Piscataway was closed...then planning with the neighborhood kids what we were going to do that day.

I heard something on the radio today that even when things get back to normal during next year's school season they'll be eliminating snow days in place of remote learning. More & more I'm glad I grew up back in the late 70's - mid 80's.

756 was Council Rock's # & KYW 1060am was the 1st place you hit during snow days.

Yeah, first time I heard that was actually 2 years ago.  My sister in law moved to Georgia,  and they got snow, but the kids had a digital learning day.  I was so ticked off.  Kids in Georgia don't get snow too often, let them have a day! My town sent out an email today saying if it snows enough, they are giving everyone a snow day, and wanted kids to be kids.  That made my day!
