After years of searching, I’ve finally found (and purchased) my  dream cottage in Harrington, Maine!

It’s “off the grid” so now I need help finding the best cellular weather station and cellular security camera so I can keep tabs on things remotely when I’m not there!

Thank you for any thoughts you have!

Thanks...

Yes, it does mean just that, which is why I need a “cellular” weather station, which is such a thing, just not sure which one is best (and the same for a “cellular” security camera system)!

Another option may be to purchase a cellular modem for internet access? We install cradlepoint modems often for work when we need to setup internet access at locations where connecting to the existing IT infrastructure isn't possible.

That sounds like a very cool option...

I’ll  check it out‼️

I was going to recommend the same thing ( a cell to wifi router, although you'll need to be careful of the data charges for streaming video from security cams).

For security cams, I have 4 foscam units that are wireless connected to my wifi router and then are accesible remotely from an app or browser window via port forwarding.  If you go the route of cellular router, be sure you can port forward and make internal items available externally.  They do work well and are cheap.  Here's a couple of screen grabs of dark room (IR) visibility, and external visibility.  if you want more details on the cameras and how to set them up, I'd be happy to share. The cams can be set up for motion alarming, sound alarming and to take pictures and email you if they sense something.  They can also be loaded with an SD card for storing rolling video.

My son just brought to my attention the StarLink project and satellite tracking app...

Incredibly cool technology that may solve my off the grid internet issues in the near future⁉️

It's wild to see them fly over.  Its a perfectly straight line of ~60 star like objects zipping across the sky.  We've seen them a couple of times.  Worth getting up in the middle of the night and watching next time their orbit brings them overhead.

One thing I forgot to mention on the cams, is you can remotely rotate, pan and zoom them and use them for 2 way communication (they have a microphone and speaker)

Amazingly cool...

I got the app where you can input your coordinates and it gives you a long list of when they’ll “fly” overhead...WOW‼️

Cameras look great!

My thanks to the three of you who took the time to reply to my inquiries!

In further researching a cellular and solar weather station, I think I have found the answer to my question with this highly rated unit (which has/will soon have a cellular and solar version!):
