I would put my wag for this week at three ninety degree days.  Tuesday & Thursday the locks.  Today and Friday iffier.  That would end the week as a tie (97F & 35 ninety degree days) going to the third tie breaker.

Squeaked a 90 today. Need that.

Congratulations to @White_Mtn_Wx for winning the contest and will spend many a snowy evening reading about SuperStorm Sandy! Philly's high was 97F, there were 36 days with highs of 90F or higher

Book received. Thanks Tony for the prize and the nicely articulated signing! 😊

Looks like @White_Mtn_Wx & @PreserveJon (sorry I missed you yesterday) are going to be in the lead into Monday.  Monday might come close to that 97F.

All you will have to do after this week is back up the ice truck onto the asos sensor to absolutely seal the 97F as the highest temperature of the year.

I feel pretty good about my 37 days of 90 degrees or more and my 241 severe number seems pretty good, but looks a bad bust with my highest summer temp of 100 prediction.

I'm also liking my 39 days of 90+ and 250 severe warnings. It's too bad it was so dry before the day it reached 97. Otherwise, my 95 might have bagged the Sandy book.

On the flip side, the around 100 crowd was looking mighty fine until Fay came along.

It might have come down to one day.   No 90s in the immediate future.  Of course now we will have to wait to early October just to be sure...

Tony, how many 90+ days and severe warnings has PHL recorded so far?

@Chubbs, Charlie has won the participation trophy.  He had the highest number, 280 combined warnings between 6/1-9/30.  No one can catch him.

Also had 35 90 degree days, like hitting a good drive and approach and 3 (or more) putting.

Congratulations to @White_Mtn_Wx for winning the contest and will spend many a snowy evening reading about SuperStorm Sandy!

Philly's high was 97F, there were 36 days with highs of 90F or higher and there were a combined 275 severe weather warnings issued by Mount Holly between June 1st & September 30th ( @Chubbs came closest with that).  Other honorable mentions @PreserveJon had the right highest temperature & @Parsley had the correct number of 90 degree days.

Thank-you everyone for participating!

  • Rainshadow5.8 changed the title to Warm Season 2020 Contest, Congrats to White_Mtn_Wx For Winning!

Nice. Congrats WhiteMtnWx.

I'll say "climo" is king. Pretty sure the winning numbers were extremely close with regards to highest temperature and number of 90 degree days.

This is the last 30 years for PHL.  I wonder if that mean of 98F is just the average of the 103/93 or the actual mean of all the years.
