Ok, this is for this Thursday's system. It's good to know which models are performing the best qpf wise, as we head into winter. Again, this is for kphl.

Tony, if they're more you would like to add, please do so.

Assuming they (GFS/EC) stay close, its still interesting to see what does occur.

Tom, 6z fous output gave PHL 0.89", not sure the reason for the difference.

6z Fous?

Tom,

Do you have a free link for the parallel gfs; we are always the last to know.  :(

I have it through weatherbell, I looked I couldn't find a free access. Shocked ncep doesn't have it up.

Yeah that was the 06z FOUS.

Thanks about the link., we just contacted WPC about it.  I did find a free link, but seeing GFS outpuit for France doesnt help much.

Tom,

This was the link I was talking about with the nam:

http://twister.sbs.ohio-state.edu/text/fous/FOUS61

Lol oooo, I was wondering what you meant with the fous, never heard of that site. I have no clue how to read that unless I have to go into something else to see qpf?  I get my nam stuff off coolwx extracted data

http://68.226.77.253/text/META212/NAM212_Kphl.txt the 40km 3 hr interval.

LOL that shows how old I really am.  That output has been around since the days of the LFM.  I dont know which resolution nam that fous bulletin uses, its just easier for me to add it up and i can go back 7 versions in a snap.

Lol hahaha, well if it works, use it. I never saw that really. I like it when the computer calculates it for me hahaha. Is there a difference between the 2?

They taught us FOUS at Rutgers (12 years ago), but at AccuWeather they taught us to use the raw model output in their system, and of course in the NWS we have pretty D2D (or should I call it CAVE now) graphics with cursor readouts...  I knew how to read FOUS once upon a time but would have to relearn it.
