anowal01 63
Multiple trees on houses...defintely some type of weather event...I hadn't looked at models for this close enough today, possibly some type of rotation event?
ACwx 531
Decided to take a walk while it was still sunny beforehand, and I ended getting a nice shelf cloud out of it 🙂

tombo82685 14,166
Lots of hail reports which I figured there would be with the low freezing level. Jersey and southern DE winners for high winds. handful of 50-60 mph winds in NJ which I believe was all from the same storm that swung through philly with that 59mph wind gust. Even a 76 mph one near manasquan, nj

So some wind damage not suprising This seemed more than some generic t-storm wind damage based on the response from first responders on the ground. The highly localized nature of it...all within a few blocks, also suggests more than generic t-storm wind. Strong microburst would fit the bill I suspect. It continued into National Park, Westville, Gloucester City and Bellmawr. Will be looking for some trees down in that corridor. This was also about right, as it went just SE of the base. Really unfortunate timing with KDIX here because it would've had a good angle on the Toms River damage as well. 0236 PM TSTM WND DMG PEMBERTON 39.97N 74.68W 04/21/2020 BURLINGTON NJ UTILITY COMPANY SEVERAL REPORTS OF TREES AND POWER LINES DOWN BETWEEN PEMBERTON AND BROWNS MILLS. SouthernNJ 75
Going to try to figure out how to post images more often, to better illustrate what I'm seeing. I found this from the JFK TDWR at 3:11 PM. It may explain why so many waterspouts and possible tornadoes are being talked about along the shore tonight, with a few being on video. SouthernNJ 75
Based on radar and video, would not be surprised if a couple of weak tornadoes occurred yesterday along the coast. Mystic Island had a waterspout filmed, and structural damage reported in the area. Howell-Brick-Manasquan had a number of damage reports and a funnel filmed in the area with JFK TDWR showing a circulation, and NE Toms River had a weak tornado/gustnado filmed traveling down a street. Will be interesting to see what Mount Holly says the phenomena were. The damage in Toms River looked like it was focused in the same direction when viewed from above, which leads me to guess perhaps the ground circulation was a gustnado more than a tornado, but ultimately it is up to them to decide.
