old TV footage

Hi all,

Been a while since I posted.  I know many of you probably hope I'll get around to the winter storm archive again some day, and its possible I will, but since that day is not today, I figured I'd share with you something I have finally gotten around to... putting all my old TV recordings up on YouTube.  Its a lot of TWC and some old local news clips too (mostly WPVI at first, later branching to the other stations). So far I'm only thru early 1996, but since that did include the blizzard, I thought it was time to share.  I'm linking to the "playlists" page since that's the most organized, but if you want to dig thru every single video, just skip over to the videos page.

Hope you enjoy!

I really miss the old Weather Channel graphics.

Watching the video, made me think how far we have come. I can still remember sitting up late on friday eve. waiting for the last ETA 48-hour panel to come in on the dial-up modem.

If you want some classic graphics...

Check out Penn State’s Weather World weeknights @ 5:45pm...

Very entertaining/good broadcasts including segments with John Nese!!

Gary Gray's commentary on modeling in the days leading up to the storm.  Gary not one to leave out a detail. Gives a good feel for what was available back in the day. NE.weather which pre-dates Wright Weather.

I would hit refresh repeatedly awaiting GG's updates in the late 90's late at night.  That was on his own website, not NE Wx.  Then boom, they'd hit and I'd read his very detailed descriptions painting a picture of what the model output looked like.  That was before I ever looked at models myself and relied solely on third party accounts.  Loved it.
