cbelke
I just read a 79 degree dew point on my VP2. That should be outlawed.

You probably are like mid 70s. I mean that still sucks regardless but the Davis dews run to high

iceman56
Just had a passing rain shower, my DP is 76, I see Paul is also 76, PTW at 74 - disgusting. Can't remember the last time I was able to cut dry grass...
colonel_kurtz
93 local torch between 3:00-4:00pm this afternoon, at least the DP is down to 71 now, was a hideous 76 at 1:00pm maybe starting to see some feedback from the dry ground TUES / WED record highs at PHL are 93 & 92, definitely within striking distance hoping for any semblance of relief THURS otherwise I'll have dial back the pre-game tailgate festivities

snowlurker
I didn't record or observe and official DP, but I have to say that it was ABSOLUTELY oppressive out, humidity-wise while hiking today at It on Hill Park. I'm not surprised to hear that it was mid-70s or even higher.

Looks odd on the 5 min obs, nothing higher than 91 other than one 92. Regardless, whether 92 or 93, might have to use 11C + 18z 925 temp the rest of the week. Our high in Mount Laurel was 91F. colonel_kurtz
Noticeably better morning with temp & DP down 5 degrees from yesterday at this time.

Looks like there may have been a weak trof that passed through around that back door high. MOS guidance goes as far as to give us a northerly quadrant wind for today. It is too far away to bring real relief, but maybe just enough to keep the status quo (some lower dews today) the next couple of days. MOS has relatively low max temps for Wednesday (doesnt have VAY even reaching 90F). This seems too wishful about clouds. I am not sure if the fall formulas are contributing also, it is not out there in la la land.
iceman56
Only 87.1 for a high yesterday as mid afternoon showers (.15) kept a lid on temperatures. DP was another story, Davis show a max of 78 which was likely too high, but 76 was probably for real.

snowlurker
I've lived in the Mid Atlantic since 2006. Now that met summer has ended, it's really hitting me how it was way too hot and humid to enjoy the outdoors except for brief stretches. I can't tell you just how many times my family and I wanted to engage in outdoor activity on the weekend but no one wanted to deal with the tropical soup. In fact, I would say that this is the WORST summer ever. I pray that we have some semblance of cool, dry autumn weather but I'm not holding my breath.

The weekend weather unless one has been right along the shore subjectively was the worst of both worlds. If it wasn't hot and humid, there were multiple rain events. This upcoming weekend fits that bill too. Yeah !!!!!!!! The heat is over!!!!!!!! Welcome to onshore flow near a stalled frontal boundary with multiple pcpn chances. Enjoy.
