chescowx
Through yesterday we stand at 9.39" of rain here in East Nantmeal Township in NW Chester County PA. With the current rain and more overnight...we have an excellent chance to be in the top-3 or possibly eclipse the all-time wettest July in history over the last 124 years of local weather records. Top Rainfall Months by year 1) 1916 (10.62") 2) 1914 (10.29") 3) 1984 (10.26") 4) 1979 (9.54") 5) 1919 (9.48") The All-Time record month will remain well out of reach....which was the 17.81" that fell across Chester County PA way back in August 1955. chescowx
With yesterday's 0.15" of rain we are tied for 4th wettest July at 9.54" with July 1979. Need another 1.09" before midnight tonight to set a new monthly record (10.62" - 1916) Also of interest despite the very wet month we are running slightly below normal temperature wise at 73.8 degrees (0.1 below normal). Three of our 1st 6 months have averaged below normal here in Chester County PA
