Baseball0618
Nice tropical moisture feed right there. Haven't seen that this winter very often.
SnowmanBob
Well it's 31 and light snow here at Detroit Wayne County Airport. Banking on Delta to get me home to enjoy this storm! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
mshaffer526
State College is also holding off until the 12Z runs to hoist warnings...right move IMO. They are working with a very difficult cutoff, especially out west of I-81.
mweav067
Can't say I'm looking forward to driving to work or the doctor's office tomorrow, whichever it is I'll have to go to.

greg ralls
Based on what I'm hearing about the new Euro run, would it be wise to work from home tomorrow if the office is in Plymouth Meeting? I know it might not actually be snowing it 8 AM, but I worry about another nightmare commute like last Friday afternoon/evening if we dismiss early.

Absolutely no reason to go in. HRRR is showing fairly moderate snowfall in the predawn hours too, so things will likely be really slow then. Cwx
I'm in southern delco. I've been trying to follow you guys but I'm a landscaper and I follow you guys religiously. What would I be looking at here and when is it starting? I know irishbri is close to me so maybe he could chime in as well?
mweav067
Well no need to worry about my wife's doctor appointment tomorrow. Luckily they had an opening on Friday. I could work from home tomorrow, but I'm not a big fan of the telecommute thing and I will probably just end up using a vacation day. That way I can kick back, enjoy the snowfall, and then focus on digging my car out to make sure I get to work on Thursday.

My personal disservice to you would be to give you a specific amount as if that would show a modicum of confidence. I would say if this is going to outperform, you'd already have 3 inches (or so) of snow on the ground as of 7 am tomorrow morning. Overnight it looks like the rain will change to snow as it gets heavier. There looks like there would be a period of non sticking snow or just plain rain in the morning, early afternoon before ending with moderate possibly heavy snow mid to late afternoon. If you were a landscaper in Quakertown, I'd tell you pretty confidently enjoy your foot or so.

snowlurker
Although it's bittersweet for me, I'm looking forward to some awesome pictures of the folks who get blessed with tons of snow. I'm especially looking forward to pictures of Baxter and Chubbs's pictures of the Fair Hill nature area.

Hopefully those who end up with lower totals still get a few hours of extreme conditions out of the event. I’d much rather these storms around the New Year. irishbri74
Listen up everyone: Let’s keep the banter minimal, and the “bust” type rants off the obs page if this storm doesn’t work out for your backyard. We will be strict in enforcing this. Good luck, may this storm work out for everyone , and stay safe.

I have been both obsessed and fascinated by impending nor'easters since I was a kid, waking up in the middle of the night to look at the spotlight, sneaking downstairs to watch the late news...to today, pouring over models, riding the emotional highs and lows, all in anticipation of the rare occassion, such as tomorrow, where we get to enjoy a blossoming snowstorm.
