BeerandWXTogether
Through yesterday we are at 47.3 for the month and running .6 below average. We probably knock out .3 (half) of that departure between today and tomorrow, ending up around -0.3 or -0.2 for the month (assuming low/mid 60's today at PHL and a low in the low 40's at Midnight, with a mid 50's/30's tomorrow). Pulling up the stats that Carl (Colonel Kurtz) shared a while back (and that rainshadow posted on Facebook), that puts it at 9th biggest monthly drop from Oct to Nov on record. 1947 - 19.1 2007 - 18.8 1995 - 18.3 1879 - 17.8 1951 - 17.7 1971 - 17.4 1984 - 16.9 1910 - 16.9 2017 - 16.7/.8 1882 - 16.5 While the drop is impressive, we still almost ended up at neutral for the month (that in spite of or despite (how you look at it) the Vets Day weekend cold slap)...shows how crazy warm October was. Apologies if this is tracked elsewhere. I'm not caffeinated and didn't want to hunt around.
tombo82685
The vet day cold basically cancelled out the beginning of the month torch. Everything else in between just washed each other out.

Would like November to eke a below normal (per se) just to see if its possible to have back to back below normal months. Its been a while early 2015?, early 2014?. Looks like the pending December cold should more than wipe out the warm start of the month plus too that the cfp is scheduled to move up to the 6th vs the 8th or 9th it once was. chescowx
Here in Chester County we ended up almost exactly normal with an average temp of 43.9 vs the average reading of 44.0. We had only 8 below freezing lows which is 5 below normal. We were however below normal in precip with just 1.89" falling and also 1.3" below normal in snowfall - none for the month and 1.6" below normal snow through November 30th
Bananashadow
Tom, Good thing you didnt quote me. I was thinking of the all-time October record, not this October which was 0.3F cooler than that. PHL eked a -0.1F for the month at 47.5F. This made the differential 16.6F, 9th place by itself.
