Maybe @Rainshadow or someone else has the updated liquid map thats fallen? Thinking these  widespread 2” were contaminated by sleet returns? Cause it’s damn impressive if it wasn’t!

Yeh, when I saw model guidance going the wrong way, felt that this ship was sailing, but tonight, made up for it.  Really awesome views tonight.

Three Tuns PA: 9” at 6pm and I’m sure I’ve added at least 3” since then....will measure again when/IF this moves out‼️ 😉

No real east movement here, just seems to be snowing itself out.

How did DC and Balt make out today?

Poor after noon. We didn’t have any additional accums after noon. Most reports between 5-6” around me

CC

Currently drizzling/misting.

1.4" since 6:30 PM

That makes 7" flat for today (not counting whatever melted between 4:30 and 6:00) and 8.3" total. Melting has once again commenced, and we've sat at about 6.5" on the ground since sundown.

Considering its tragic placement between the northwest banding today and Jersey's banding tonight, I think the city did pretty well for itself.  The thick layer of sleet underfoot no doubt saved the forecast, as did the crazy cold (for March) daytime temps. Strangely enough, globs of snow only started sliding off the trees once the sun went down.  Technical win for the NWS, as the city made the 8-12" called for.

Still snowing, but drier air finally winning....guess this is that spring/summer rainstorm many of us ponder, "Imagine if this was snow..."

And, props to Mt Holly, I think many including myself, were skeptical of their expected map.  Lols on me!

OK.  A bit under my forecast from yesterday but not too far... 5.3" at IAD, 4.1" at DCA, 4.7" at BWI as of 8PM. Enough to verify the warning I issued at least, for most zones anyway. Most of the accumulations were between 8AM and 2PM. I had 5.2" at my house.  Most places in the metro were 3-8", highest near Baltimore.

Ewing is stuck at 7.1".  It was little more than flurries for a while, now a little heavier, but with marginal temps it might be compacting.
