Had to get down to the nearby creek again before winter disappears for a few weeks. This minor snow pack has held up well.

Drove by South Branch Raritan in Hunterdon County NJ the morning of March 8th, the morning after 8 to 14 inches of snow.

Thank-you Parsley! I love this stretch of the South Branch, although a bit of a pain when it rains. The dirt road in the photo is in a flood plain.

Last day for winter pics? Maybe not.

Anyway, just back from a long weekend in western NY. Very impressive end of winter snowpack during parts of my drive. Along I-81 in parts of northern PA and central NY (especially toward Syracuse). Then on my way back through western NY’s interior lake effect snow belt (RT. 400 and 20A).

Anyway, a few pics from a booze filled St. Patty’s weekend. High rise pics look west across semi-frozen Lake Erie into Canada. Would have loved to take more pics but I was driving solo.

I'm pretty close to you in Branchburg.  That stretch with the dirt road is pretty awesome.  I'm newer to this area, so still learning the spots.  All the little one lane bridges are so cool.  The river looked awesome right after the super cold stretch and the thaw.  There were like 5 inch thick blocks of ice all over the river banks.  Wish I took pics of that.

Here are some pictures of river ice, some from the same spot where I took the earlier photos and a couple of others from Stanton (the building is the gage at Stanton NJ, and one photo taken from the Stanton Bridge). Photos taken between Jan 13 and Jan 15th when river ice broke after the two week cold snap. I have oodles of pictures of the South Branch. Some time I'll have my camera and get a photo of that cool white bridge over the South Branch in Neshanic.

Ran short of time this morning and by the time I went out a lot snow had melted from the trees. Some of my favorite spots to pull over were not plowed. Trees from around my property. The two Evergreens are not happy but I think they will survive. I'll dig them out, carefully, later.
