I Am Sorry To See This (NCAR Ensembles) End

Recommended Posts

I thought it did great with convection when there was consensus and it didnt nam us with snowfall.  The spc takeover version will contain the 3km nam and that model was slammed recently for overforecasting snow in the Rockies by 1000%.

Heard about it at NROW a few weeks ago :(.

Yeah I dont see how the 3km nam being 25% of the ensemble families is maintaining status quo.  Its a step backwards in some regards.  The NCAR ensembles last winter set a nice ground floor for snowfall expectations, now we will go from 24" in one run to 5.6" in the next run carrying 25% of the weight.
