That's nasty, jeez. Slow mover too

That cell is heading North while everything else is heading East. Interesting movement to watch on the radar.

0.48" pouring -  a slow ramp the past hour or two. Hope we don't make it into the turn it off category.

The cell in S NC county is still almost stationary. GOES-16 shows low level inflow from the SE (shows up better on animation).

What happened to all the rain? It looked like it was moving up this way and then completely dissipated.

The rain found out it was summer... not supposed to rain in a couple months

It won't get going till later and esp towards morning. Things will gradually fill in as the night progresses as the LP comes closer and taps into better resources. All that rain from this morning and afternoon wasn't from th LP it was from the warm front/convergence zone lifting through

Ok, got it. I'm still surprised all we got out of it was a light drizzle. We'll see what happens in the morning.

now if your bacy yard gets hit with rain, that is up in the air. Radar echoes should increase as we go through the night and into the morning to out west and south.

I wish I knew how to imbed a radar loop but in just watching the COD from KDIX there is a line of echos moving NNW within the general W to E flow of the majority of the returns. Pretty fascinating. Anyone care to explain this dynamic to a novice?

I missed the fun while at work in Newark. But lots of FB reports of flooded roads.  I also heard that there was one water rescue in Townsend - woman in tree to escape flood waters.
